While oiling or re-oiling a mat and/or other teak products is generally based on personal preference, it is not necessary to oil the mat or similar unless the color starts to fade and you wish to bring the item back to the original coloring. The color fading is purely a cosmetic change within the wood and is not an indication that the wood has lost its’ density or strength.
Returns are allowed within 30 days from receipt so long as the product(s) is unused and in like-new condition, with the original packaging. Buyer is responsible for the return shipping cost. Merchandise will not be accepted for credit, exchange or refund without prior permission issued by Nordic Teak. No returns on special orders.

Long Lasting
Teak is more durable and resistant to wear and tear, making it ideal for long-term use. Over time, bamboo can develop splinters, especially if not properly maintained, which could be uncomfortable underfoot.
Water Resistance
Naturally high in oil content, teak is highly resistant to water, preventing it from rotting or warping. Bamboo is not as naturally water-resistant as teak, which can lead to warping, swelling, or deterioration if exposed to moisture over long periods.
Mold and Mildew Resistance
The natural oils in teak also make it more resistant to mold and mildew. While bamboo can resist mold to some extent, it is more susceptible to mold and mildew growth than teak, especially in humid environments.
Low Maintenance
Requires less frequent maintenance and treatment compared to bamboo. Bamboo is generally less durable than teak, making it more prone to wear, cracking, and splitting over time.
Aesthetic Appeal
Often seen as more luxurious, teak has a rich, warm color that can complement a variety of bathroom and outdoor styles.
